An Artist’s View Flash Fiction Challenge

Our host for today’s post is Melissa’s Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge who asks us to create a flash fiction piece or a poem inspired by the image. There are no style or word limits. The image below is from Anastasia Shuraeva at Pexels.

In a room where walls have turned to wild canvases,
A little artist sits, legs crossed, her world boundless.
Her hair, a nest for dreams, swept up high,
Holds stories untold beneath its tangled sky.

She dips her brush in sapphire paint, so lush,
A stroke on the wall, the silence hush.
Around her, colors shout in vibrant glee,
Casting spells only pure hearts can see.

Each dab, each smear, each playful line,
Speaks of a soul unbound by time.
In her eyes, galaxies swirl and dance,
Inviting onlookers to take a chance.

To see the world through her wondrous hue,
Where every wall is a chance to renew.
No critics here in her sacred space,
Just splashes of joy in an endless embrace.

She creates not to capture, but to feel,
With every color, she heals, she reveals.
A world that’s more than black and white,
A canvas of love, her heart’s delight.

  1. Lovely! She does have fabulous hair, “a nest for dreams”. Love that and “Casting spells only pure hearts can see.” Pure hearts appreciate when the simplest things bring joy, especially to children and loved ones.❤️🙏🏻
